Market Gardening

25th September 2019

An extensive and professional grow-your-own vegetable garden with a cultivar portrait greenhouse. A lovely rural setting for a garden with the greenhouse central to the design. Measuring at 8 foot (2438mm) wide by 10 foot 5 long (3218mm) this planthouse is our best selling size. 8 x 10

The traditional Accoya boarded base gives shade to the roots of the salad crops but allowing carefully secured climbers to benefit from the high eaves and roof pitch glazing to encourage growth. internal

Now here’s a greenhouse idea – when constructing the base of for your greenhouse why not incorporate some open soil beds designed to facilitate growing from the ground. The folded down staging enables the entire space to be devoted to summer crops whilst our automated low level vents draw in the air to keep the crops healthy and well ventilated.

There is a system here where the greenhouse can be used to overwinter plants. In Spring the staging is up to raise seedlings which in turn can be moved to the cold frame to harden off for outside planting in the raised beds. To complete the year we are back to the peak of summer with the delicious crops of home grown fruit and vegetables. Well done.

There has been careful consideration of the collection of rainwater, a gutter conversion kit enables the water to be collected in a waterbutt (albeit exceedingly stylish). No wonder the proud owner looks so pleased, it’s a market garden to be proud of.
