Finished in our timeless new Oyster White, this compact Victorian greenhouse proves that you don’t need a grand footprint to create a hardworking, beautiful space for year-round growing. With pride taken in every inch of the surrounding garden, it was important that the greenhouse not only performed, but also looked the part — and here, it forms a natural focal point just a few steps from the house and the covered seating area beyond.
Inside, every surface has been carefully put to use. Along the left-hand side, tomatoes climb confidently up string toward one of our Cultivar grow bars — a simple but sturdy support that makes vertical growing a breeze. Above them, strawberries flourish on high-level shelves, safely out of reach of hungry birds and ready to be picked when the time is right. To the rear, Series 3 shelving offers the perfect spot for seedlings in trays. On the right-hand side, the customer has made use of our neat aluminium staging to display flowering plants, geraniums among them, while strawberries once again make an appearance on the upper shelf, just beginning to ripen in the sun.
This greenhouse may be modest in size, but it’s remarkably versatile. Outside, a row of cold frames flanks the right-hand wall. These can be used to overwinter more tender specimens, or act as a halfway house for young plants on their way from greenhouse to garden. It’s a smart and flexible setup that adapts beautifully to the seasons.
And beyond the growing, there’s space to simply enjoy. A gentle water feature adds the calming sound of trickling water to the garden’s daily rhythm, while thoughtfully positioned outdoor lighting means the greenhouse and its surroundings can be enjoyed well into the evening, even as the days begin to shorten. In a compact garden, every feature has to earn its place. This one does so with style, functionality, and a quiet charm that makes it a joy to return to, day after day.
